Meet the Founder:
Hello, I’m Michael,
and I’m an architect.
Way-back-when, I discovered architecture as the right balance of creative expression and technical challenge. Each project I take on is an opportunity to learn from my clients, to meet or hopefully exceed their goals, and try something new. On the technical side, I try to always keep learning new ways to build and work better. I try not to reinvent the wheel so that I can focus on my clients’ unique needs and make each project special. The plurality of my work has been for non-profit organizations – I’ve developed a knack for using humble materials to make memorable spaces.
My pursuits outside of architecture enrich my practice. Visual arts have always been part of my life – photography and drawing classes inform my understanding of light, perception, composition and visual communication. Training in acrobatics and hand balancing gives me a uniquely open-minded understanding of the body’s relationship to space… and gravity. Let’s dance and play while we work. I try to ask open-ended questions and avoid taking anything for granted to get at deeper meanings and better design solutions. If my practice were a podcast, I hope it would be Radiolab.
